Data Analyst, Trade Finance Operations (Banking Industry)

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user correction logs by extracting and consolidating data from ClearTrade and vendor systems.
  • Preprocess raw data by document type and field for validation and analysis.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to identify root causes of corrections.
  • Classify corrections into categories such as necessary (for ML training) or unnecessary (for rule improvements).
  • Summarize findings in clear formats for vendor and user feedback.
  • Work with business users to understand operational logic behind correction patterns.
  • Coordinate with vendors to share insights and suggest improvements to ML or rule-based systems.
  • Maintain documentation of analysis and decision rationales.
  • Provide updates, issue logs, and action plans to senior stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field.
  • Familiarity with Trade Finance processes and documents (e.g., L/Cs, invoices, shipping docs).
  • At least 3 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in banking/finance.
  • Ability to handle large datasets, especially operational or system logs.
  • Proficient in English (written & verbal), with strong stakeholder communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with AIOCR systems or trade finance automation tools is a plus.
