Job Description Summary As a Quality Inspector, you are responsible for preparation and analysis of metallurgical lab samples, conducting evaluation, mechanical testing, reporting findings of various types of coatings and materials for aircraft engine component repair. In addition, you are required to support, maintain, and troubleshoot lab equipment if necessary. Role Responsibilities Comply with Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity of Metallurgical Lab operation. Prepare the sample for mechanical testing such as hardness, tensile strength, and other relevant metrics. Prepare the sample for metallurgical evaluation including sectioning, mounting, polishing, grinding and etching. Operate and maintain Metallurgical Lab equipment, ensuring its calibration validity. Adhere to laboratory procedures during metallurgical lab operation, maintain general laboratory housekeeping (5S). Perform incoming inspection of controlled material if required. Liaise with external laboratory or supplier related to metallurgical service (ensure all external metallurgical service quotation, purchase order and certificate are delivered timely). Maintain good communication skills and work with Requestor for metallurgical evaluation and analysis. Be flexible with working timing and willing to work in rotating shift & weekend. Ideal Candidate Knowledge in Aerospace, Material science or Mechanical field with experience in laboratory sample preparation and interpretation of microstructure. Required Qualifications Minimum GCE ‘O’ level and/or with 3 years of relevant experience. Preferably NITEC/Higher NITEC in Engineering; or Diploma in Engineering Field. Able to read and understand manufacturing operation sheets and standard operation procedures in English. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Candidates with no experience are welcome.
