At CloudMile, we are building a next-generation, conversational AI platform designed to revolutionize HR workflows. We are a well-funded, ambitious team based in Singapore, creating an enterprise-grade product featuring a 3D virtual human that acts as an intelligent HR partner. We are looking for a highly skilled, data-driven AI engineer to build the intelligent core of our product and the data pipelines that fuel it.

The Role

As our founding Generative AI Engineer, you will be the steward of our platform's intelligence and its underlying data. This is a unique hybrid role where you will not only design and build our sophisticated AI agents but also architect and implement the data infrastructure that makes them smart. You will work in a tight-knit, strategic partnership with our Lead Application Architect to create a seamless, data-centric system where the AI and application layers are perfectly aligned.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Agent Development: Design and build intelligent AI agents using frameworks like LangChain or Semantic Kernel to automate complex HR workflows.
• Data Pipeline Architecture: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory to ingest and process data from various sources (e.g., third-party HRIS APIs, LinkedIn, user interactions).
• RAG Implementation: Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, connecting our LLM to private company data stored and indexed in Azure AI Search .
• Data Modeling & Transformation: Transform and model raw data in Azure Data Lake into clean, structured datasets suitable for AI consumption. Develop data schemas for our NoSQL and SQL databases (Azure Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL ).
• LLM Integration: Integrate and leverage state-of-the-art models from Azure OpenAI Service (GPT-4) to power conversational logic and complex reasoning.
• Architectural Partnership: Work as a key partner to the Lead Application Architect , ensuring the data architecture robustly supports the application's needs, from API contracts to database design.
• Data Governance: Implement best practices for data quality, security, and governance, particularly in adherence to GDPR.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of professional experience in data-centric software engineering roles (e.g., AI Engineer, Data Engineer, or Backend Engineer with a heavy data focus).
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and its data/AI ecosystem (e.g., Pandas, FastAPI).
• Demonstrable experience building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using tools like Azure Data Factory , Airflow, or similar.
• Hands-on experience working with Large Language Models (e.g., OpenAI API) and frameworks like LangChain or Semantic Kernel.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling and experience with both NoSQL (e.g., Cosmos DB ) and SQL databases.
• Proven ability to work on complex systems and collaborate effectively on architectural decisions.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)

• Deep, hands-on experience with the Azure Data & AI stack (ADF, Data Lake, Azure AI Search, Azure OpenAI).
• Experience developing and deploying RAG systems in a production environment.
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding management.
• Experience building solutions in a regulated environment (e.g., GDPR).
