Job Information

As a PowerBI Data Analyst (Freelance), you will be responsible for assessing the impact of our ERP upgrade from Odoo v11 to v17 on our current PowerBI infrastructure. You will propose and implement necessary adjustments to ensure all existing dashboards are restored and functioning correctly. The role also involves identifying areas for optimization and suggesting improvements for future scalability. This is a project-based role with flexible working arrangements, reporting directly to the COO and collaborating closely with internal data and systems teams.

Project Overview: We are upgrading our ERP system from Odoo v11 to v17, which requires updates and restoration of our existing Power BI infrastructure (dataset, dataflow, connection with server). We are seeking a freelance or consulting Data Engineer with IT technical, Power BI infrastructure expertise to help assess the migration’s impact and adapt the current reporting system accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Impact Analysis: Evaluate the effects of the migration from Odoo v11 to v17 on the existing PowerBI infrastructure.
  • Proposal Development: Recommend a new PowerBI configuration aligned with the updated Odoo database structure and integration logic.
  • Implementation & Restoration: Adapt and update the data pipelines and dashboarding infrastructure to restore previous reports and ensure data consistency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in the reporting process and recommend future enhancements.

Deliverables include: Technical assessment report of Odoo v11 to v17 migration impact , Configuration proposal for revised PowerBI infrastructure , Reinstated dashboards with the same reporting capabilities as before the migration , and optional: Additional recommendations for long-term dashboard improvements .

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in PowerBI development and data pipeline configuration .
  • Experience with Odoo ERP data models and data extraction techniques is highly preferred.
  • Strong skills in SQL , data modeling , ETL , and working with large datasets.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining data integrity through a system upgrade.

Optional:

  • Familiarity with VPN, SSH access, and remote server environments.
  • Previous experience working with cross-functional teams on data infrastructure projects.

Reporting Line: The consultant collaborates closely with the internal Data and System Management team and reports to the COO.
