Assistant Merchandising Manager

Job Description Source for new products. Responsible for product categories allocation. Plan merchandise assortment considering category mix and range planning. Analyse product pricing strategies and their impact on sales and margins. Drive Gross Margin Improvements through negotiations with supplier. Liaise with suppliers on promotional activities and prompt delivery of stocks. Develop strategies to manage slow-moving products and optimize sell-through rates. Develop accurate sales and profit forecasts, and effectively manage budgets to support strategic business objectives. Ensure timely replenishment of best-selling items to meet customer demand. Manage inventory levels effectively by tracking stock movement, identifying potential stockouts, and optimizing inventory turnover. Collaboration with internal stakeholders across different departments to execute the promotion strategies in alignment with the product launches. Review and analyze sales reports to identify trends, identify areas for improvement, and develop and recommend strategic initiatives to enhance sales performance. Conduct market research to stay current with the market trend and competitor strategies. Conduct regular store visits to ensure that Company's merchandising standards are met. Plan and execute store promotions for renovations, openings, and closures, managing Back to School (BTS) orders for stores, and supporting offsite events, new store setups to ensure smooth retail operations. Assist in Events and Campaigns. Assist with merchandising related administrative duties. Perform any related duties assigned by the Reporting Officer as it deems fit. Requirement Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or relevant fields. Minimum 5 years of working experience in similar capacity and with proven track record of category management in retail. Knowledge of SAP will be added advantage. Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.
