Academic Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Biomedical Science or related disciplines.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in blood banks, tissue banks, testing, pathology, research, or commercial labs (with a Degree).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the same fields (with a Diploma).
  • Candidates with less than 2 years of relevant experience may be considered if working under the supervision of qualified personnel with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
Skills and Competencies
  • Strong sense of responsibility with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow precise procedures and ensure data accuracy.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment, maintenance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Must be Hepatitis B immunized.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day laboratory tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Process and store clients’ umbilical cord blood units, cord tissue, and lenticules according to approved protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the laboratory.
  • Generate accurate clinical reports and documentation.
  • Support the development and validation of new laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Provide guidance to junior laboratory staff when required.
  • Manage laboratory inventory and supplies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine technical issues under senior staff guidance.
  • Collaborate with Laboratory Manager and Assistant Laboratory Manager for efficient lab operations.
Authority
  • Authorized to perform laboratory procedures as instructed.
  • Authority to report issues and deviations to senior personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards.
Accountability
  • Responsible for the accuracy and quality of laboratory work performed.
  • Accountable for compliance with safety standards and SOPs.
