Vice President / Director, Underwriting Risk Management

  • Assist senior management with reviewing and challenging underwriting transaction requests, collaborating with the Credit Department for decision-making, and applying strong credit knowledge and transaction experience to assess credit and market risks of underwriting positions.
  • Manage credit origination, portfolio oversight, and ongoing risk management activities.
  • Conduct deep analysis of market conditions, review weekly MtM position updates of unsold exposures, and evaluate business strategies.
  • Analyze underwriting portfolios and report findings to the monthly regional management committee.
  • Assess new Structured Debt products and services, organizing discussions with stakeholders, including the head office in Tokyo.
  • Plan credit risk management strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the development of underwriting risk frameworks in the APAC region, emphasizing effective risk management and regional collaboration.
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent with experience in Financial Institution credit risk.
  • Minimum 10+ years of relevant banking experience.
  • Strong credit and market risk analysis skills, with working knowledge in banking underwriting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Team player with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Meticulous with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under tight timelines and handle cross-border interactions.
