Overview

Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) in Photonics at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity. This hiring aims to strengthen the Division of Physics & Applied Physics in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) and their multidisciplinary program, with a focus on Photonics, Nanophotonics, Quantum Photonics or related areas.

We seek a future leader who can foster interaction between physicists, materials scientists, and engineers at NTU through ambitious research programs, and contribute to the School’s education and research leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Establish a world-class research program in Photonics, Nanophotonics, Quantum Photonics, or related areas.
  • Enhance the School’s visibility as an international leader in education and research.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to course development.
  • Actively collaborate with NTU faculty and researchers and foster cross-disciplinary partnerships (academic/industrial) in Singapore.
  • Undertake administrative and leadership roles as needed and contribute to service activities.
Requirements
  • PhD in physics, materials science, or a related discipline.
  • A strong record of research and publications in reputable peer‑reviewed international journals.
  • A good track record of securing research grants.
  • Experience supervising students and interns in relevant fields.
  • Experience with cross-disciplinary research initiatives and collaboration.
