- As the Technical Superintendent at Fleet Management India Private Limited (TFMIPL), you will play a crucial role in leading both on-shore and off-shore teams to deliver high-quality, innovative, and sustainable solutions to our customers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe and cost-effective management of the vessels assigned to you.Your key roles and responsibilities will include:Technical Management / Operations:- Accountable for vessel inspection to ensure adherence to maintenance standards and organization procedures.- Supervise daily operational activities of all assigned vessels.- Prepare specifications, evaluate tenders, and supervise maintenance to manufacturer recommendations.- Advise Line Manager on vessel operation, budget performance, and any incidents affecting the fleet.- Liaise with the Procurement Department for spare parts supply considering vessel trading commitments.Regulatory/Legislative Statutory Compliance:- Ensure 100% compliance with International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Flag State, and Port State rules and regulations.- Maintain ship certificates and survey status, track renewals, and ensure placement on board vessels.Financial Management:- Monitor and report budgets for assigned vessels, collaborating with technical staff, purchasing, and finance controllers.- Support the planning of operating budgets, dry-docking activities, and ensure adherence to budget limits.Quality & Continuous Improvement:- Recommend process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency.- Implement approved Continuous Improvement projects and establish expected performance levels.- Ensure a complete understanding and implementation of Safety & Quality Management System policies and procedures.Health, Safety and Environment Compliance:- Create and sustain a positive safety culture on-board vessels.- Act as the first point of contact for emergencies and ensure a safe working environment.- Responsible for implementing corrective actions to remedy safety hazards and deliver safety training to employees.People and Leadership Management:- Articulate clear goals for employees, coach, engage, and mentor them for development.- Maintain talent pool by engaging top performers and managing bottom performers effectively.- Conduct continuous performance discussions and ensure development plans are in place for all team members.Job Experience, Functional Knowledge, and Qualifications:Essential:- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Marine Engineering/Navigation or equivalent.- Hold MEO Class 1 Certificate of competency or relevant Certificate of Competency under STCW Code.- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as Chief Engineer in the relevant type of vessel.Desirable:- Knowledge in Classification Society procedures and regulations.- Prior people management experience and proven track record in dry dockings, ship repair, and vessel financial management.- IT literate, computer savvy, and a Business Administration qualification will be an added advantage.,
