Overview APAC Senior Business Risk Manager (Director Level) - Global Private Bank in Singapore Our client, a global private bank, is seeking an experienced and strategic APAC Senior Business Risk Manager (Director Level) to join their Singapore office. This key role will work closely with front-office business leaders and second-line risk and compliance teams to drive and implement risk initiatives, launch new services, streamline processes, and uphold a strong governance, risk, and control framework across the region. Key Responsibilities Risk & Regulatory Frameworks Serve as a first line of defense , supporting the front office in identifying, managing, and mitigating business risks. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in core regulatory domains including Suitability, Pricing, Investor Protection, Cross-Border Regulations, and Shared Relationship Management . Monitor, assess, and respond to regulatory developments, ensuring timely and effective transformation aligned with legal and regulatory obligations. Strengthen regulatory frameworks by enhancing internal processes, tools, policies, training, and control mechanisms. Business Support & Change Implementation Partner with service and product owners to assess and prioritize new business and product initiatives. Represent the front office in cross-functional change initiatives, ensuring operational efficiency and risk mitigation. Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and act as a liaison for front-office feedback on preventive controls and process enhancements. Governance & Oversight Coordinate with compliance, internal audit, and external regulators during audits and regulatory reviews. Ensure robust oversight of outsourced activities and timely escalation of emerging risks. Support M&A and integration projects, acting as a key stakeholder on risk-related matters. Operational Excellence & Training Drive front-office operational efficiency by leading initiatives to streamline processes and reduce pain points. Oversee communication with front-office staff, including issuing broadcasts and hosting regular forums to address risk and efficiency topics. Design and deliver targeted training programs (e.g. Avaloq system) for front-office staff to reinforce risk awareness and regulatory compliance in daily operations. Qualifications & Requirements Min 10 years of relevant working experience in Private Banking environment with a strong risk management background Proven track record in risk management , operational controls, and regulatory change implementation. Strong leadership, project management, and execution capabilities. Effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Able to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and lead junior team members as required. Fluent in English ; proficiency in an Asian language is preferred (due to regional coverage) Strong understanding of private banking processes , products, and systems. Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
