Director, Digital Services Project Specialist, AI Transformation Apply for the Director, Digital Services Project Specialist, AI Transformation role at SMBC Group . Responsibilities Contribute to developing the strategic priorities and focus areas for AI Transformation, including collaboration with SMBC Group companies. Design approach and implementation initiatives focused on process re‑engineering, automation and analytics capabilities. Determine the benefits (financial/non‑financial, direct/indirect) of delivering the AI‑led projects for the organisational units. Define the Target Operating Model (TOM) integrating components of people, process, and ecosystem partners to implement AI‑enabled business. Includes definition of business case, vendor partner strategy and internal resources planning to support delivery of defined Digital initiatives. Implement business‑as‑usual automation, including regulatory & governance matters, new products and business steering in APAC branches/offices and manage subsidiaries. Develop team members’ skill and motivate others to maximise the outcome of the team. Collaborate with relevant departments of Head Office to efficiently enhance business and governance in the APAC region. Develop action‑oriented AI initiatives and plans in consultation with business leaders and management team with clearly defined KPIs and business outcomes. Support framework and methodology to develop AI enablement plan, run pipeline development initiatives alongside key business leaders. Plan and drive implementation actions, together with relevant functions, to enable regulatory, legal entity, policy, and procedural changes. Engage stakeholders and create a stakeholder management approach to facilitate the design and delivery of Digital initiatives. Appropriately manage the risks that may arise from large AI projects to the Bank and to the stakeholders supported. Business and Technical Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Experience in process re‑engineering, automation and analytics including AI. Banking and Digital experience is an added advantage. Characteristics, Experience, & Degree Strong strategic thinking, use of data and logic for decision making and improving understanding. Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work autonomously and take ownership. Ability to work with senior stakeholders. Effective cross‑functional collaborator and communicator. Able to frame an issue or opportunity from first principles. Flexibility & adaptability to adjust priorities according to business needs. Communicates effectively. Ability to inspire others.
