Overview
An established listed investment holding that is currently undergoing an exciting evolution is seeking a change management finance leader to participate in this transition. As a Group Financial Controller , you will lead the Finance team across the full spectrum of accounting and financial functions, ensuring timely consolidation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements for the investments and Group, complying with statutory reporting, accounting standards, tax compliance and cashflow management. You will be involved in management reports, financial results announcements, audited financial statements, SGX reporting and its results announcements, and audited financials for the Group, entities and joint ventures. You oversee statutory group reporting and compliance, including preparation and review of Annual Report and corporate governance documentation.
Responsibilities- Reporting directly to the (deputy) CFO and engaging with the Board to prepare, review, and finalise board papers for Audit Committee and Board meetings, including quarterly results and decks, financial results, real estate valuation announcements, and accounting treatment memos.
- Present quarterly financial results, manage auditor engagement matters, and provide compliance updates to the Audit Committee and Board.
- Ensure adherence to SFRS and SGX regulations; respond to financial queries from the Audit Committee, Board members, analysts, and shareholders as appropriate.
- Empower and develop the Finance team while overseeing:
- Full finance and accounting scope including transfer pricing, financing matters, SGX financial results compliance checklists, management representations, and final year-end.
- Tax submissions to IRAS.
- FP&A, budgeting and forecasting, including preparation of financial reports, business performance and cash flow projections.
- Review budget submissions, provide financial analysis, and update senior management on business performance.
- Lead process improvement and digitisation projects.
- Regularly review and update Finance and Group accounting policies, financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management protocols.
- Strategic business advisory.
- Possess degree in Accounting and CA/CPA with a minimum of 15 years' relevant experience in a corporate environment, including SGX-listed company and Big 4 background.
- Experience in real estate industry and/or project investment holding companies; strong corporate tax, corporate finance, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with ability to apply SFRS/IFRS in areas including consolidation and general accounting, intercompany, month-end close, acquisition/disposal/deconsolidation of subsidiary companies, accounting for non-controlling interests, head office recharge, transfer pricing and process controls.
- Experience in project implementation and/or digitisation projects is highly preferred.
- Degree in Accounting and CA/CPA with at least 15 years of relevant experience in corporate settings, including SGX-listed companies and Big 4.
- Real estate industry and/or project investment holding company experience.
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax, corporate finance, and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in SFRS/IFRS, consolidation, intercompany, month-end close, and related accounting processes.
