Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) is responsible for ensuring product quality and reliability by supporting the implementation of quality systems, monitoring production and inspection processes, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements. The QAE collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues, support root cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement activities to maintain high-quality manufacturing standards within Yamazaki Mazak Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management Systems

  • Support the development and improvement of Quality Management Systems, including documentation creation, review and communication.
  • Promote awareness of quality standards and best practices across departments.

2. Quality Audits and System Support:

  • Support internal and external audits and follow-up actions to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Assist in documentation preparation, review and control to support audit readiness and maintain quality system integrity.

3. Non-Conformance Management:

  • Assist in the coordination and closure of quality issues, ensuring appropriate containment and corrective actions are taken, and follow through on resolution activities..

4. Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions:

  • Participate in root cause analysis for in-process, in-house, and customer-returned quality issues.
  • Support the implementation and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), ensuring effectiveness and recurrence prevention.

5. Inspection and Quality Control:

  • Oversee and support the daily inspection and testing activities to ensure parts and assemblies meet defined specifications and standards.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and training of inspection standards and procedures.

6. Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

  • Participate in initiatives that aim to enhance product quality, reduce waste, and improve process efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in a quality assurance or inspection role within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience in quality auditing, quality assurance, or similar roles within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems (QMS), including ISO 9001. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or similar certification is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and present findings to various levels of management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality training solutions tailored to the needs of machinery manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with machining processes, CNC technologies, and machine tool operations is highly advantageous.
  • Bilingual or translation capability is advantageous.
