GrabRentals (GR) is a core pillar of Grab’s Mobility business, with the primary objective of securing vehicular and productive driver-partner supply for Grab’s ride-hailing marketplace.

The GrabRentals team houses its own strategy, partner management & productivity, pricing & product design, sales, marketing, operations et al. functions, and also works very closely with other teams in Grab spanning business, operations, tech, and analytics.

In the Strategic Projects team, we are focused on ensuring the optimization of our existing business as well as the growth of new businesses including Autonomous Vehicles

Get to know the Role

In this position, you will play a vital role within the business team leading the execution of autonomous vehicle pilots. We are seeking a unique blend of a technical product manager, a process optimization expert, and an AV specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be the bridge between our on-the-ground deployment operations and our core product and engineering teams. You will own the roadmap for our operational systems, dive deep into technical challenges, and re-engineer our processes for maximum safety and efficiency. The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define requirements, scope, and deliver the software and hardware that powers our fleet operations

  • Drive the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes from pilot to full-scale deployment

  • Act as a critical link between operations and the product/engineering teams. Translate operational challenges, learnings, and opportunities into actionable feedback to guide the design and iteration of the product and service offerings

  • Lead process optimization initiatives across our deployment operations, from vehicle commissioning to on-road incident response

  • Utilize data analysis and strategic insights to identify efficiency gaps, model potential solutions, and drive continuous improvement

  • Implement and champion frameworks like Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen to streamline workflows between our internal organization, the broader company, and external partners

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the autonomous vehicle system's operational capabilities and limitations

  • Establish and implement rigorous AV safety standards and protocols for system validation testing and daily operations

  • Establish, track, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs). You will be responsible for the continuous monitoring of performance metrics such as safety and uptime, identifying trends, and generating insights for improvement

What Essential Skills You Will Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field

  • 3+ years of experience in technical product management, process engineering, or operations management within a high-tech industry

  • Direct, hands-on experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, or other complex hardware/software systems

  • Proven track record of managing technical products from ideation to launch, including writing requirements and building roadmaps.

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using data to identify problems and drive decisions

  • Demonstrated experience in process mapping, analysis, and implementing improvement frameworks (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)

  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills

  • Strong spoken and written communication skills
