Head of Trading Operations Location: Singapore Global Trading House | Multi-Commodity | Operational Excellence Shape the Backbone of Global Trading. Drive Efficiency, Scale, and Control. Our client, a world-class commodity trading house with a global footprint , is seeking an experienced and highly strategic Head of Trading Operations to lead their operations hub in Singapore . This individual will be responsible for overseeing the full trade lifecycle across physical and derivative transactions, ensuring seamless execution, compliance, and operational excellence. Your Mission As Head of Trading Operations, you will lead a team of professionals and act as the key bridge between front, middle, and back office—ensuring the smooth flow of trade operations from deal capture to settlement, across multiple commodities and time zones. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Lead, coach, and develop the regional trading operations team in Singapore, supporting global desks (APAC, EMEA, Americas). Own and evolve the operational strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and scalability. Trade Execution & Lifecycle Management Oversee the end-to-end trade lifecycle: confirmation, documentation, logistics coordination, invoicing, and settlement. Ensure accurate and timely trade capture, validation, and reconciliations in alignment with risk and compliance policies. Process Optimization & Automation Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual touchpoints, and implement automation tools. Collaborate with technology and data teams to ensure best-in-class trade systems and reporting. Cross-Functional Collaboration Liaise with trading, finance, legal, treasury, compliance, risk, and shipping to ensure smooth execution of physical and paper trades. Proactively resolve issues related to documentation, settlements, or discrepancies with internal or external stakeholders. Governance & Compliance Ensure all operational activities adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Implement and maintain robust controls to mitigate operational and settlement risks. Ideal Candidate Profile ✅ 10+ years of experience in commodity trading operations , preferably across oil, gas, metals, or softs.✅ Proven leadership and team management experience in a global trading environment .✅ Strong understanding of both physical and derivatives trade flows (e.g., swaps, futures, options).✅ Expertise in trade management systems (e.g., Endur, Allegro, Aspect, CTRM platforms).✅ Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.✅ Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.✅ Based in or open to relocating to Singapore , with exposure to APAC markets.
