Plastic Parts Quality is one of functional team under QiEP , Corporate Quality. Its major task secure Plastic Parts external manufacture parts to fulfill LEGO unique quality value. The main working platform is external suppliers’ platform. To ensure the energy and cooperate success together through simplicity, coherence, and collaboration; To keep decreasing customer claim via more effective and efficient quality function in Development quality, Supplier quality management, and outgoing quality control. To escalate, prevent and detect quality risk before elements moving to our customers and consumers. To solve multiple quality issues by professional and systematic problem-solving approach. End orientation point to our stake holders and VIP customer’s service. To satisfy our customer always link to our performance management via continuous improvement. Our team slogan is “Make-Buy same quality” This position aims to identify the product quality risk and eliminate it during novelty stage. The main challenge for this position is the person should have good expertise on the quality development and product knowledge and strong quality mindset to ensure product fully compliance with our quality requirement in development stage.

Core Responsibilities

• Evaluate product structure and design to meet safety and functional requirement throughout the whole development process

• Review the current process to ensure its continuous improvement and drive the cross-functional project to optimize process

• Drive big incidence to ensure root cause can be identified and countermeasure with proper problem-solving tools

• Initiate Q-Test plan for high complexity element to ensure risk has been identified with DFM when production

• Define the test method in development stage and ensure supplier conduct the test accordingly

• Conduct production pilot at vendors’ plant, evaluate and qualify manufacturing process

• Take ownership of learning & developing profession by proactively and continuously improve area of responsibility, seeks improvement in daily work, transform functional knowledge & experience into tangible results

• Support supplier quality management, like supplier quality audit, customer claim handling.

• Identify visual quality according to LEGO Error definition and VQG guild line.

• Each employee has the responsibility to ensure a health and safe work environment for himself/ herself and other employees

• Role authority: Approve/Reject development testing methodology . Escalate quality risk in development to management team. Approve/Reject novelty PP quality to move to mass production. Declare Critical equipment performance result to decide if Critical equipment can be used in mass production

• Verify and validate development performance according to development agreement

• Contribute risk findings to project team by professional quality tools (CTQs, FMEA, SPC, CPK, PPAP)

• Follow on development weak point or challenged point to mass production stability impact

• Quality input for novelty development in earlier stage

• Align PS test with PS team and supplier team

• Approval test diagram for development physical testing drive PP approval

• Improve supplier development quality management Quality input to high complexity project DFM/DFA

• Check in with QID for D-FMEA and add local quality input

• Review development data to evaluate the development performance

• Initiate P-FMEA to minimize development process risk Verify the reliability for the key measurements and testing in development Engage in development problem solving

Do you have what it takes?

• Proven working experience in quality development or design engineering in plastic/ injection moulding industry with relevant education backgroundis preferred

• Strong quality mindset to ensure never compromise to quality

• Expertise on plastic material, molding or related process is preferred and experience on toy industry would be an advantage and good at international toy safety standard, ASTM, EN71, ISO 8124, etc

• Knowledge in application of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, SPC, and MSA is necessarily requested

• Supplier quality development and management experience in Thailand i s preferred

• Project management skills, good oral and written communications skills

• Data science is requested for performance analysis and risk indication .

• Fluent in reading/writing/speaking in English, and preferred for Mandarin for stakeholder management purpose.

Decision-Making (What authorities are connected to the functional expertise of the position)

• Assess the stability of quality in the development design.

• Verify the reliability of the supplier testing method.

• TQs close decision

• Accept/Reject for PPAP
