Overview about the company Our client, a fast-growing, dynamic player in the asset-backed supply and trading sector with a significant presence across Asia. They are currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented GL Accountant to join their lean and high-performing regional finance team. This role is ideal for a proactive and meticulous accountant ready to take full ownership of the General Ledger function and support complex regional operations. You will be a crucial contributor to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records in a fast-paced trading environment. Overview about the job Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the General Ledger, including the accurate and timely execution of month-end and year-end closing processes, posting complex journal entries, and performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations. The position ensures compliance with local accounting standards (SFRS) and tax regulations (GST), serves as the primary contact for the annual external audit, and manages intercompany balances and daily cash flow, while also driving continuous process improvements and system optimization within the finance function to support the fast-paced regional trading operations. Responsibilities End-to-end management of the General Ledger, including month-end and year-end closing processes, posting complex journal entries, and performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations. Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations, support annual external audit, manage intercompany balances and daily cash flow, and drive process improvements and system optimization within the finance function. Qualifications Degree in Finance/Accounting, or related field with professional accreditation is a plus Relevant years of accounting experience with a focus on the General Ledger function Experience within a commodity trading, energy, or multinational enterprise is advantageous Proficiency in major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills would be highly desirable Strong analytical skills and extreme attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and external auditors How to apply To apply online please use the 'apply' function, alternatively you may contact Dylan directly at .
