Responsibilities Our economists team collaborates with business teams to understand their challenges, develop a research agenda, design pilots and measure their impact. We are looking for candidates who are creative thinkers with strong technical economic toolbox. Our partner teams are algorithm engineers, marketing, seller & creator growth, user growth, resource management, etc. Responsibilities: Quickly convert a real business requirement into a solvable modeling problem. Use economic thinking and scientifically rigorous methods (including but not limited to causal inference methods, economic modelling, experimentation) to facilitate decision making related to product functions, recommendation & search algorithm strategies, operations, and other business strategies. Develop a systematic framework to causally evaluate the impact of various policies and strategies; Predict the long-term impact of policies and strategies; Increase the impact of business actions by identifying & understanding key mechanisms; Optimize traffic/cost (e.g. marketing expense) allocation; Improve the ecosystem of TikTok ecommerce, including but not limited to seller growth, product supply, content supply, governance, and user growth. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Master's degree or above in economics, statistics, Operations Research, finance, quantitative marketing, or related field; Proven track record in research and solutions to business problems leveraging techniques from economics or related disciplines; Coding ability in a scripting language such as R, and/or Python, SQL with strong writing and presenting skills; Experience in communicating scientific approaches and findings to business leaders and deliver successful scientific solutions; More than 3 years of data analysis experience, experience in large tech company is preferred; Preferred Qualifications Strong writing and presenting skills; Demonstrable experience in any of the following areas of applied economics: reduced-form causal analysis, predictive modeling and causal ML algorithms, forecasting, labor economics, health economics, education economics, behavioral economics, financial economics, industrial organization.
