Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Ascendion Industry: American multinational financial technology company Job Title: Data Engineer The vision of Client’s data team is to “Provide an enterprise data lake for all client’s product, operational and analytics needs at lower cost and better quality. Our team ingests and integrates diverse data sources, constructs data warehouses, and crafts data visualizations to drive business insights. We collaborate with stakeholders to address their data needs, supporting daily operations and decision-making. Client Data team is looking for a seasoned data engineer together with strong analytics skillsets based in Singapore to deliver data pipelines and build BI insight dashboards to fulfil business needs from different functional stakeholders. As a data engineer you will analyse complex data sets to provide insights that drive business decisions. You will work closely with BSA and stakeholders to understand their data needs, design data model and data solutions and develop data pipelines while ensuring data security and company policy compliance. Your role will also involve performing data analysis and presenting business findings to business stakeholders or leadership to power business decisions. Your day-to-day work will include : Understand and analyze complex client’s datasets. Collaborate with BSA, domain teams and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions, including ETL pipelines and data visualizations. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data solutions. Build BI dashboards based on business requirements. Ensure data security, governance, and compliance with organizational standards. Troubleshoot and debug data gaps, anomalies, and issues. Basic Qualifications Bachelor/master’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent. 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles. Expertise in SQL. Experience with programming languages such as Python or JAVA. Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar). Knowledge of data modelling, data warehousing and ETL design patterns. Strong understanding of product development lifecycle and agile methodologies. Preferred Qualifications Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive). Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, Big query). Familiar with payment and fintech industry. Proficient in English is a must, Chinese will be a great plus. Innovative, creative, and good learning capability, willingness to take initiatives and go beyond. 5+ years relevant experience. Payments/FinTech industry background is a big plus. Ability to work with complex data streams, downstream stakeholders. Motivation to identify data needs, stakeholder management. Cross-border collaboration with China team. 2 rounds of interviews will be conducted. Mandarin language is also plus to have. Python, SQL (with coding test), GCP (Big Query, Hive), ability to build BI dashboards. Java or Scala, AI-related exposure is a big plus.
