Job Purpose:

You shall be responsible for assessing and identifying individual needs of students &/or trainees with occupational therapy issues and concerns. You will also formulate, develop and customise appropriate occupational therapy programs for the students &/or trainees.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out assessments in relation to occupational needs of the students and document reports

Formulate and facilitate intervention for students in the area of motor and processing skills

Evaluate therapy progress and outcomes with the use of selected therapy outcome measures at regular intervals (every 6 months).

Conduct Vocational Profiling Assessment for students to match their skills and interests to the appropriate vocational track

Conduct Community Partner Workshops such as Employers Education to create awareness for employers who are working and supporting persons with ASD and Mild Intellectual Disability (MID)

Planning and facilitate group programs

Conduct work site assessment to determine suitability for placement of students

Conduct work place site visits to support students on OST (On-Site Training) and WEP (Work Experience Program)

Provide Supervision and mentorship of OTA /OT Student Intern/ Conditional Registered OT

Administrative Duties:– Digitization of OT reports– Documentation of clinical duties

Job Requirements:

Degree in Occupational Therapy or its equivalent (preferably recognised by the Allied Health Professional Council)

Preferred at least 2 years clinical experience. However, Entry Level Candidates are welcomed to apply.

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Commitment and motivation to work with young person with special needs and their caregivers.

Good team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Relevant work experience with children and young adults with intellectual disability would be an advantage

Ability to work with minimum supervision
