The Markets Governance team supports the governance of the Markets and Financing Securities Services (FSS) businesses with respect to non-financial risks, ensuring alignment with Bank Policy and Enterprise Risk Management Framework. This includes chairing and/or supporting and/or setting standards for meetings that support country and central governance. The role will also review and lead pan Markets risk and control framework, and remediation activities for alignment.

Responsibilities

• Support the holistic Markets/FSS governance framework, including understanding Market strategy, reporting flow within Markets, and delegations of authority / stakeholder landscape.
• Lead pan Markets deliverables and initiatives to align with group and CIB strategy; review existing framework; lead multiple Markets-wide initiatives; coordinate the Global FSS Non-Financial Risk Committee.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive the pan Markets agenda and its related Book of Work.
• Drive the right risk culture within Markets and/or FSS as directed by the business and support implementation of related initiatives.
• Manage communication of status updates to key stakeholders including Senior Management through presentations and reports.
• Provide robust oversight to support adherence to relevant internal and external policies across Markets and/or CIB.
• Provide input and maintain consistency with Bank/CIB Conduct standards and policy.

• Strategy: Provide input and maintain consistency with Bank/CIB Conduct standards and policy.
• Business: Good understanding of Markets and FSS business, how Markets operate within Group, alignment with CIB strategy, and external market environment including Regulators.
• Risk standards and Policy relevant to Markets/FSS; awareness of the wider Markets/FSS business and leadership of a team providing risk management support.
• Processes: Implement processes to ensure adherence to Policies and Standards relevant to Markets; improve efficiencies and timeliness; provide guidance and analysis for FSS matters across the Markets Process Universe.
• People & Talent: Develop a team of strong risk managers; lead through example, promote risk culture, drive training and communications for risk, control and governance; ensure ongoing training and capability of holders of critical functions.
• Risk Management: Oversee non-financial risks, monitor control performance, identify top themes, drive cross-business risk initiatives, contribute to annual risk review priorities, and manage risk tooling and documentation.
• Governance: Promote a risk-oriented culture; run Markets governance committees; drive standards and consistency in regional/country forums; ensure policies are fit for purpose and governance standards are effective.

Our Ideal Candidate

• 10+ years of experience in risk management and compliance; degree preferred.
• Significant experience managing Operational, Compliance, or other risk areas in first or second line of defence.
• Experience presenting to senior management up to Board level; ability to articulate complex issues concisely.
• Experience in supporting Markets and/or Funds and Securities Services businesses.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; collaborative problem solver; strong stakeholder management.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; comfortable in a relatively unstructured, multi-cultural environment.
