Senior Assistant Director

What the role is:

We are looking for an experienced and analytically driven leader to join our team to safeguard environmental public health in Singapore. As a senior member of the Vector Control Operations Division, you will lead strategic data initiatives and drive evidence-based decision-making in vectors surveillance, prevention, and control programmes. This role requires someone who can combine advanced analytical capabilities with strategic thinking to transform our vector management approach through data-driven insights. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in transforming our vector control capabilities through advanced analytics while leading strategic initiatives to enhance Singapore's environmental public health outcomes.

What you will be working on:

You and your team will be responsible for the following:

• Lead a team of analysts and provide mentorship in statistical analysis, data visualisation, and interpretation in the context of environmental public health.
• Lead the development and implementation of analytics strategies to enhance vector control operations through evidence-based decision-making and policy making.
• Lead continuous efforts to improve how data is processed, managed, presented and reported to help in operations planning and decision making.
• Guide the development of automated analytical solutions and dashboard maintenance that facilitate data interpretation and use for operations planning.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to align analytical initiatives with organizational objectives.
• Spearhead the adoption of new analytical tools and technologies to enhance operational capabilities.
• Guide staff on budgeting, procurement and contract management matters.

What we are looking for:

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing operational or strategic projects.
• Strong understanding of public health surveillance and analysis, particularly in vector-borne diseases would be an advantage.
• Strong background in project management, operations analysis, or related field
• Strategic thinking with ability to see the bigger picture while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proven track record in leading complex projects and driving organizational improvements through systematic analysis and evidence-based approaches.
• Familiar with the following tools and techniques would be an advantage

• Biostatistics and modelling
• Data visualization tools and techniques
• ArcGIS
• Python or R programming

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with ability to present complex data to various audiences
• Able to work under pressure and handle crisis situations.
• Willing to respond to emergency situations outside office hours
