Overview

Assistant Engineer role at Cushman & Wakefield. The position is responsible for the management and maintenance of the M&E facilities in the Building, overseeing day-to-day M&E systems, and ensuring effective repair, maintenance and improvements. The role also involves supervising outsourced contractors, attending on-site emergencies, and enforcing safety measures where applicable.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the M&E facilities in the Building.
  • Oversee day-to-day M&E systems and develop a systematic approach to repair, maintenance and improvement work.
  • Develop, implement, review and maintain maintenance regimes and processes, and implement improvements to building services.
  • Oversee works carried out by outsourced contractors and ensure minimal disruption to building operation.
  • Attend monthly meetings with the Employer and be on-site during emergencies unless prior permission is granted for absence, with an authorised representative attending on the Engineer’s behalf.
  • Carry out daily inspections under the Contract to ensure the Site is well maintained; joint inspections may be requested by the Employer.
  • Perform daily maintenance of M&E systems and building activities.
  • Supervise and ensure all M&E and building services under the Contract are properly maintained and operating efficiently.
  • Monitor all scheduled, breakdown, unscheduled and cyclical maintenance works.
  • Schedule, monitor and ensure maintenance activities are carried out effectively; supervise a team on site.
  • Carry out daily inspections to promptly rectify defects as per the service standard.
  • Assist in enforcing fire safety rules and fire safety measures for the Site.
  • Respond to Employer instructions promptly and execute them expeditiously.
Requirements
  • Degree/diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in maintaining M&E systems in high-rise office buildings.
  • Practical knowledge of building services and M&E operations such as air conditioning and electrical systems; ability to troubleshoot system breakdowns.
