This role involves advanced performance tuning, high availability setup, incident resolution, and close collaboration with development and infrastructure teams. Mandatory Skill Set Must have 6 - 8 years of hands‑on experience as a PostgreSQL and/or Sybase DBA; Proficient in PostgreSQL setup, HA/DR, performance tuning, and backup/recovery; Must have strong experience with Sybase ASE/IQ installations, tuning, and replication; Skilled in SQL tuning, index optimization, and database monitoring using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and pg_stat_statements; Scripting knowledge with Shell, Python, TSQL; Solid understanding of ITIL processes and enterprise production support; Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and time‑management skills. Desired Skill Set PostgreSQL and/or Sybase DBA certifications; Experience working in financial institutions or large‑scale critical environments; Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps collaboration. Responsibilities Provide L2-level support for PostgreSQL and Sybase environments across Asia and Europe; Own and manage incident, problem, and change management processes; Perform health checks, capacity planning, and performance tuning; Architect and maintain HA/DR setups and disaster recovery strategies; Automate routine DBA tasks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives; Act as an escalation point for complex database issues; Collaborate with development, QA, DevOps, and infrastructure teams; Maintain up-to-date documentation and knowledge base; Participate in global infrastructure activities like DR drills and maintenance windows; Enforce compliance with operational standards, policies, and security protocols; Provide on-call support based on shift schedule.
