Championing Legal and Compliance in Asia at Scan Global Logistics; Defining what success looks like and making it happen About the role As the Head of Legal and Compliance, Asia at Scan Global Logistics Singapore Pte Ltd, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's operations and practices adhere to all relevant laws, regulations and ethical standards across the Asia region. This full-time, office-based role is located in the Downtown Core Central Region, Singapore. What you'll be doing Overseeing the legal and compliance functions for Scan Global Logistics' operations in Asia, providing strategic guidance and hands‑on support Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements Advising the business on legal and regulatory risks, and developing strategies to mitigate those risks Conduct internal audits and compliance checks Check of sanctions and trade export control Monitoring and interpreting changes in relevant laws, regulations and industry standards, and implementing appropriate compliance policies and procedures Collaborating cross‑functionally to embed a culture of compliance and ethical business practices Representing the company in dealings with regulatory bodies, government agencies and other external stakeholders Project Management What we're looking for Strong legal and compliance expertise, with the ability to interpret, apply, and adapt legal principles in fast‑evolving business contexts. Experience in the freight forwarding or shipping industries is preferred, with sound understanding of commercial and operational dynamics. Demonstrates strategic judgment; able to balance legal integrity with commercial pragmatism, and to distinguish between ideal outcomes and what is practical for the business. Commercially astute and solutions‑oriented, with a track record of providing advice that enables business growth while managing risk responsibly. Agile and adaptable, thrives in environments where priorities shift and decisions must be made on the go, maintaining clarity under pressure. High emotional intelligence (EQ) builds trust, communicates with tact, and manages sensitive issues with empathy and composure. Collaborative mindset, capable of working both independently and across multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational objectives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to convey complex legal matters clearly to non‑legal stakeholders and influence decisions constructively.
