Team Summary

Global Controllership is responsible for establishing Visa’s global accounting policies, providing technical guidance to the business, processing accounting transactions globally and consolidating all Visa entities’ financial results.

The Controllership Data and Process Excellence (CDPE) team designs and builds critical tools, advances capabilities and innovation of business intelligence and automates business processes for the Controllership functions. Along with enhancing the tools and control processes, we aim to promote data governance, process efficiency and reporting accuracy within Global Controllership.

What an Associate Finance Analyst (Data & Process Excellence) does at Visa:

CDPE is seeking an Associate Finance Analyst to enhance and create efficient tools and applications for optimum data and process efficiency across Controllership functions. The Analyst should be able to clearly and confidently articulate solutions, methodologies and frameworks within the team and to partners, who are both technical and non-technical.

Job description:

Enable Automated Self-Service Reporting:

  • Harmonize data sources from multiple systems in different formats
  • Build automation and visualization tools to report and communicate results achieved
  • Maintain effective data operations in Python / PowerBI for reporting and control processes

Champion Process Excellence and Data Governance:

  • Identify potential business risk areas and propose data governance and process controls for robust error detection and prevention
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities on existing processes

Why this is important to Visa

The Controllership function in Visa is responsible for financial risk and controls management across Visa’s businesses, allowing business to be conducted in a safe and sustainable manner. The CDPE team plays a vital role in generating reports, tools and analytics to communicate, measure and mitigate risks across Visa’s business lines.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.


Qualifications

What you will need:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have:

  • Degree in Finance
  • 1-3 years relevant working experience 
  • Skills in data analysis and experience using one or more of the following languages and platforms for data manipulation, extraction and automation: Python / M (PowerQuery) / DAX / PowerApps
  • Experience in using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview or similar platforms for creating dashboards and reports to facilitate management decision-making
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global team environment, collaborating with stakeholders across different functions and regions
  • Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills
  • An eye for detail and attention to accuracy
  • Self-starter who can responsibly advance work and is comfortable making sound judgement calls

What will also help:

  • A major/specialization in Data Analytics
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements and revenue recognition concepts
  • Familiarity with process automation tools and techniques including RPA tools such as Microsoft PowerAutomate, BluePrism or Automation Anywhere.

 

Projects you will be a part of:

The Controllership Data and Process Excellence team is at the forefront of data technology and process improvement in Finance, and we lead the way in reducing manual workflows and the elimination of process risk in our business operations. The Analyst can expect to work with various applications, platforms and technologies used in our daily work and apply the acquired skills on projects that increases the data maturity of the Visa Finance organization.

These include the creation of data collection and validation platforms using PowerApps, the creation of monitoring dashboards in PowerBI and the automation of data pipelines and reporting processes using Python.
