Business Function

The Transformation Group reports to the Group Head of Strategy, Transformation, Analytics & Research (GSTAR) who supports the CEO and senior management team on the implementation of the Group's strategic agenda, including working with the businesses and functions to drive strategic initiatives across geographies. The mandate of Technology and Operations Data Chapter (T&O DC) is to lead and support both our Operations and Technology stakeholders towards being an AI Fuelled support unit.

About this Role

The T&O DC team is part of DBS Transformation Group, and our responsibilities include building scalable analytics solutions using data pipelines, visualization, advanced statistics, AI/ML technologies leveraging on-premises data analytics platforms to create/amplify the business impact in operation performance management and empower consumer banking business with actionable insights in the most strategic transformation. We are looking for a big data analyst and delivery professional to drive data driven initiatives by closely working with operation stakeholder, user, data engineering and technology teams. The candidate is expected to be able to perform in multiple areas seamlessly viz. biz/data analysis, data science, architecture design, solutions, and pipeline development, as well as delivery and stakeholder management.

Job Responsibilities

·Support the delivery of analytics initiatives to address business problems with the ability to gather user requirement, perform analysis, determine data required, exploration, design, and development of data products end to end, as well as assess time & effort required and furnish the delivery plan. To coordinate with stakeholders for planning, changes, sign offs and approvals.

·Manage DDOM control tower and Datamart project involving full analytics project life cycle (including conceptualization, visualization, implementation, and operationalization) and be accountable for the delivery.

·Perform data profiling and analysis; translate unstructured data into structured information;Analyse and perform performance tuning for big data jobs and queries.

·Conduct deep dive analysis, identify insights and implications from operations data in wide spectrums and find the primary drivers behind the struggles from customer or operation process journey. Make strategic recommendations with data displays and storytelling that clearly convey the information.

·Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Be able to solve the business problem by translating into a data model and building the insights into an actionable outcome.

·Deployment of data pipeline jobs into production environment and support the BAU

·Engage with the broader analytics community outside the unit and be in line with the overall strategy / direction undertaken by the bank/section.

·Work with cross-functional teams and able to execute well in a fast-paced and agile environment

·Good to have data science experience (knowledge of inferential statistics, building ML models for regression, classification, and clustering, run model evaluation and test model stability and reliability)

Requirement

·Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines.

·Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience preferably in big data analyst role; relevant experience in banking or financial industry is an advantage.

·Experience in data processing/manipulation involves large datasets; and be able to transform structured and unstructured data sources for analysis;

·Strong technical skills in data wrangling, analysis, transformation, and query optimization using Python, Pandas, Pyspark and SQL; Experienced in relational databases such as MariaDB, MySQL;

·Familiarize with CICD deployment tools like Jenkins, Airflow, Jira, Confluence; Optional to have visualization tool experience on QlikView, Tableau;

·Good knowledge/experience in big data stack for Hadoop eco-system (Hive, HDFS, Impala etc.)

·Possess technical mindset, great attention to detail, independent and a ‘can-do’ attitude

·Highly self-driven and operate under "Agile" methodology; Proven ability to roll up your sleeves and contribute quickly

·Ability to work under tight deadline and handle multiple projects; Must exhibit full sense of ownership of the platform worked on;

·Be data sensitive with story-telling skills and good problem-solving skills;

·Able to pick up new methods/techniques quickly and apply towards solving a problem at hand

·Good interpersonal and communication skills

·A team player with good time management, organizational and prioritization skills

·Good to have understanding and knowledge in data science areas such as ML model, NLP, LLM, ChatGPT
