NAMIC Director

NAMIC is Singapore's Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology accelerator, ecosystem and venture builder. AM is a multi-disciplinary digital manufacturing technology, and forms one of the foundations for modern manufacturing in the 21st century, along with robotics and artificial intelligence. Under the Manufacturing and Economy 2030 Vision, NAMIC's mission is to accelerate the adoption of hybrid and digital additive manufacturing technologies, helping industries transform towards innovation and high value-added manufacturing using sustainably sourced, nature-based designs and cradle-to-cradle on-demand manufacturing. The cluster orchestrates public-private partnerships, focuses on translational R&D in materials, software, hardware, processes, digital workflows and standards. NAMIC adopts an industry sectorial engagement approach, leveraging on public R&D investments, prioritizing the pull-through of promising AM research outcomes, and supporting industry test-bedding towards commercial scale-up. NAMIC also assists companies seeking capital injection either through project joint-funding or its investor network.

NAMIC Director - Ecosystem and Internationalization Office

We are seeking an experienced mid-senior leader, who is a team player with great attention to details and due diligence, keen to join us on the mission to enable a digital manufacturing future.

The successful candidate will report to the CEO. He/she will play a key role in supporting NAMIC on strategy, portfolio and administrative management. The successful candidate will

·Support the CEO and partner Industry Development and Cluster directors on finessing and implementing Research Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) AM strategy.

·Responsible for NAMIC ecosystem development and international outreach, including strategic partnerships.

·Develop and implement strategic imperatives to position Singapore as a global AM hub.

·Responsible for all aspects of NAMIC events (conference, workshop, exhibition, webinars) and marketing (digital, e-services). This includes scope, budget, schedule, resourcing, communication, and stakeholder management.

·Support the engagement with public agencies, industry trade assocations and private enterprises.

·Partner the industry Development and Cluster directors to host visitors including overseas/local partners, tertiary and research institutes, vendors and suppliers.

·Ensure compliance of A*STAR processes with internal stakeholders - corporate communication, finance, procurement, office of grant administration and NPCO

·Monitor and review outreach initiatives to ensure compliance with grant terms and performance commitments.

·Document learnings and share projects progress/insights to the team.

Requirements

·Innovator, strategic thinker, problem-solver and self-starter.

·Masters or PhD (preferred) in Mechanical/Electrical/Civil/Biomedical/Materials/ Chemical Engineering, Science, Medicine or equivalent STEM-based education.

·At least 10 years of public sector and industry experience, with 3-5 years in a leadership and/or strategic planning role.

·Management experience is a big plus.

·Candidates with experience and knowledge in Additive and Advanced Manufacturing will be prioritized.

·Experience in project management in an R&D, Technology and/or Operations environment, interfacing with public sector agencies would be a big plus
