Royal Ocean Marine, a leading headhunting /recruitment agencies company in the maritime industry, is seeking a Provision Purchaser to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing provisions for vessels. You will work closely with suppliers, ensure timely delivery of provisions, and maintain accurate records of inventory. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the maritime industry, excellent negotiation skills, and a detail-oriented approach to inventory management.


Responsibilities
  • Source and select suppliers for provision items.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends and identify new sources for provision items.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of provisions to vessels.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory and procurement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with the logistics team to coordinate delivery schedules.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Monitor and report on provision costs and budget.

Requirements

  • Experience in purchasing and inventory management, preferably in the ship chandling or food industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of provision items and suppliers in the maritime industry.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other procurement software.
  • Ability to work well in a team and handle multiple priorities.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and requirements for provision purchasing.
