About Us:

The Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) is a research institute of the Agency for Science, Technology, and Research (A*STAR). We are looking for an individual with a passion for science who is highly motivated. A successful candidate will collaborate with a cutting-edge team of researchers pushing the boundaries in quantum technologies. In this role, you will join the Quantum Photonics and Information group with primary emphasis on studying entangled photons tailored for space applications.

In this role, you will work on the following but not limited to:

Development of high-performance sources to generate entangled photon pairs using spontaneous parametric down-conversion. Setting up the time-correlated single photon detection system. Quantum information based on discrete variable (DV) entangled photons. Quantum metrology and sensing. Data processing, programming, and automation of lab setups. Scientific dissemination (journal papers, conference, and patents)

Job Requirements:

PhD degree in physics/optics, or closely related fields Candidate with relevant experience or PhD training experience are welcome to apply.  Substantial hands-on experience in experimental research in quantum optics and quantum information is advantageous. Familiarity with laboratory equipment for quantum optics experiments, including lasers, optical components, and detectors. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to present research findings clearly and concisely. A passion for pushing the boundaries of quantum science and technology and a desire to contribute to ground breaking research. Self-motivated and passionate on research work. Able to independently plan and execute research work. Good team player. Possess good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
