Shipping Research Analyst

Royal Ocean Marine, a leading headhunting /recruitment agencies company in the maritime industry, is seeking a talented Shipping Research Analyst to join our client's team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing valuable insights and analysis for the company's shipping operations. As a Shipping Research Analyst, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our strategic decision-making process, optimize our shipping routes, and ensure the smooth and efficient movement of goods across the globe.
- Conduct research and analyze market trends, vessel performance, and competitor activities to identify both short-term and long-term opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategies to optimize shipping routes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Monitor and evaluate market conditions and make recommendations on charter rates, vessel utilization, and fleet optimization.
- Prepare and present reports, presentations, and updates to internal stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance and identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Maintain and update databases, ensuring accuracy and availability of data for analysis and decision-making purposes.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as shipping agents and brokers, to gather and share market intelligence and insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, logistics, business analytics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in maritime research, shipping operations, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather and analyze large amounts of data.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of international shipping regulations and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
