Tax Advisory

Client Funds

To support the team on tax structuring/ tax due diligence in relation to acquisitions, on-going maintenance of structures/ any restructuring and divestments. This includes assisting with review of cash flow models. To support the team in relation to investor due diligence/ queries. To support the team in relation to updates to relevant stakeholders on changes in relevant tax law relevant, the potential impact and any appropriate suggested action(s). To support the team on any ad-hoc tax matters.

Business

Provide pro-active and timely tax support to the Business working closely with the M&G Finance team. This includes direct/ indirect taxes and transfer pricing.

Tax Compliance/ Reporting

Both Funds and Businesses

Work closely M&G Finance team and Property Fund Finance (PFF) team and oversee all direct and indirect tax returns prepared by external advisors. Work with M&G Finance team and PFF team to review periodic tax provision calculations. Understand and ensure compliance with the requirements set out in the M&G Tax Strategy, Tax Risk Management framework and protocols. Provide tax support for any operational matters across functions (i.e. Finance and Operations, Corporate Secretarial, etc.). Build/ maintain good relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

Additional responsibilities

- Understand and demonstrate M&G’s blueprint, i.e. M&G’s purpose, strategic drivers and behaviours.

- Fulfil regulatory requirements, including timely completion of regulatory trainings and declarations.

Requirements

Has a Degree/ equivalent in Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration. 5+ years in tax, with both tax compliance and advisory experience which could be in-house and/ or at a top tier accounting firm. Experience with/ knowledge of real estate fund structures, real estate tax matters and M&A will be beneficial. An excellent communicator who can explain complex tax issues to non-tax stakeholders. Has an aptitude to streamline, innovate and/or automate processes.
