The Role

The Children’s Emergency provides initial evaluation, stabilisation and treatment to acutely ill or injured infants and children.

Key accountabilities

Manage and plan the care management of individual patient using the 4-prong Systematic Approach to Nursing Delivery comprising Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. Identification, stabilisation and treatment of all acute paediatric emergencies (medical, surgical & trauma) Paediatric Injury Surveillance and Paediatric Trauma Registry Child safety patient education and Monitoring of paediatric poisonings Management of victims of non-accidental injury  Participate in action plans for the unit to enhance employee engagement and maximise employee performance Carry out physicians’ treatment/investigations as ordered. Demonstrate competency in nursing core & special skills Assist Nurse Manager to set short & long-term goals for the unit Performs duties as assigned by the NM

Qualifications & Experience

State Registered Nurse Practising Certificate Diploma in Nursing Preferably with post basic specialty certificate/Advanced Diploma in Emergency Candidate without prior experience are welcome to apply

Morning shift - 0700-1515 / Afternoon shift - 1315 - 2130 / Night shift - 2100 - 0730
