Purchasing Assistant

Essential Functions
1. Complies with the Company’s QSM and processes.
2. Provide effective support to the Purchasing Executive and Procurement Manager for the purchasing process.
3. Communicate with supplier to obtain quotes, negotiate prices, and clarify specification.
4. Prepare and Issue Purchase / Work order (PO/WO). Ensure approval is obtained and proper closure of the purchasing activities for each technical purchase requirement.
5. Follow up on Purchase Orders and ensure ordered items delivered on time.
6. Take over duty of Logistics Support Assistant during his absence
· Launch Boat & Land Transport arrangements for personnel boarding / disembarking vessels.
· Land Transport / Launch Boat / Cargo Boat arrangements for delivery of stores / spares / provisions to vessels. Support technical team for collection of spares from vessel when required.
· Import / Export arrangements & documentations of spares (Lighterage Wharves / Jurong Port / PSA).
7. Ensure the proper information are entered into the Company’s electronic system as the system requirements.
8. Contribute and feedback to section / department manager on improvements to the management system.
9. Perform additional duties under the direction of the Procurement Manager as needed. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
Requirements
Minimum GCE level in any discipline, & minimum two years of experience in Purchasing role and/or Logistics role.
