Key Responsibilities
Actively seek inspiration and references from sources outside of the business to support creative design solutions. Source reference and carry out research to illustrate a design direction to the clients, working with architects and graphic designers in the project team. Produce basic concept work using hand sketches or variety of digital and traditional media to a high standard. Assist in assembling presentations using a variety of digital and traditional media, particularly Adobe InDesign. Produce, under supervision, drawing packages for Schematic and Detail Stages. Source reference material and carry out research to ensure that materials and products are fit for purpose. Produce, under supervision, furniture and finishes schedules. Build knowledge of markets, our clients and their competitors. As directed, responsible for some basic project communication, including liaising with contractors, design & construction team and written communications. Assist with recording design team or site meetings either by minutes, letters, emails or file notes. Provide support to any more junior team members.Skills & Experience Required
Degree in Interior Design or Architecture or Design related discipline. Experience working on Concept, Schematic and/or Detailed stage in Interior Design projects. Experience of large format environments would be beneficial. Creative thinker with quick concept communication skills. Ability to create a concept, from a brief (under direction where required). Ability to think through design problems and outstanding attention to detail. Advanced software skills, including both 2D and 3D software capabilities: Adobe Creative Suite, Autocad, SketchUp or an alternative 3D package such as Rhino. Revit would be beneficial. Demonstrate a basic knowledge of materials and their application. Good communication and organisational skills with the ability to communicate with suppliers. Team player with collaborative work ethic. Proactive and conscientious. Keen to learn and develop skills and a genuine interest in design.
