Job Description

The Vice President of the Center of Excellence (CoE) for Operations is responsible for driving operational excellence and strategic initiatives across the organisation. This is a senior leadership role, reporting into the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), International Business.

This role involves developing and implementing best practices, optimising processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The VP collaborates with various departments to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic objectives and enhance overall performance.

Strategic Leadership:

● Develop, align and execute the strategic vision for the Center of Excellence in alignment with the company’s overall strategy and goals.

● Lead and drive the development and implementation of operational strategies, policies, and frameworks for Network, Customer Service, Data Analytics and Service Excellence.

● Lead and drive initiatives to standardise and streamline processes across the organisation.

Operational Excellence:

● Identify and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

● Oversee the design, implementation, and management of process improvement initiatives.

● Monitor and analyse performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

ESG & EHS Regulatory Compliance:

● Provide guidance to North and South District operations to comply with relevant local and international laws and regulations.

Technology and System Implementation

● Possess good knowledge and experience of 3PL/4PL logistics platforms and be responsible of onboarding and maintaining the digital platform.

● Evaluate, drive and implement innovative solutions with focus on automation and process improvement.

Network Development and Vendor Management

● Overall accountable for Network Design, Vendor Selection and On-Boarding through a complex review of Commercial Strategy, Operational Strategy, Vendors capabilities including the supply and demand in Linehaul (Air, Sea, Rail and Road) and Custom Clearance brokers.

● Review and develop a robust strategy for Transportation Management to ensure optimisation of routes to improve efficiency and cost savings.

● Drive the strategic planning of Network Development to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.

● Drive Linehaul Management to ensure timely movement of freights while maintaining high standards of service and compliance with regulations.

Team Leadership and Development:

● Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

● Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for team members.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

● Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders across departments to drive organisational initiatives.

● Facilitate effective communication and coordination between the CoE and other business units.

● Engage with senior leadership to communicate progress, challenges, and successes.

● Manage relationships with external partners, vendors, and consultants.

Innovation and Change Management:

● Promote a culture of innovation and agility within the organisation.

● Lead change management efforts to ensure successful implementation of new processes and technologies.

● Identify emerging trends and technologies that can drive operational improvements.

Performance Monitoring

● Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the success of end to end service levels.

● Regularly review and analyse performance data to drive decision-making.

● Report on CoE performance to executive leadership.

Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. Experience Minimum of 12 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a Center of Excellence or similar environment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business units, functions and influence decision-making at all levels of the organisation. Strong background in the logistics industry, with experience setting and executing strategy across multiple countries. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex situations. Strong vendor management experience with airlines, freight forwarders and transportation
