Position Overview

The Doorman plays a vital role in creating a positive impression for guests and ensuring their comfort and safety during their stay at Capella Singapore. Responsible for welcoming guests, fond farewell of guests, opening doors, assisting with transportation, assisting with luggage, valet parking and maintaining order at the entrance/hotel curbside. The Doorman embodies hospitality and professionalism.

The Role

  • Welcome guests upon arrival and departure with a warm and courteous greeting.
  • Open doors and assist guests with entering and exiting the hotel.
  • Assisting guest with unloading and loading of luggage
  • Assisting guests with transportation arrangements, including hailing taxis or coordinating private hire vehicles.
  • Monitor the curbside and ensure order
  • Provide directions and ushering of guests to their desired venue.
  • Handle guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally
  • Maintain cleanliness of the curbside
  • Collaborate with other hotel staffs to ensure seamless guest experience
  • Assist with valet parking if required
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as assigned by front of house managers

Talent Profile

  • Minimum Secondary education
  • Experience in doorman or bell desk operations
  • Ability to exude a welcoming demeanor
  • Must be in good physical condition as job requires lifting and moving of heavy/bulky items
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to maintain a high level of composure in a busy environment
  • Having a vehicle driving license
