What is the opportunity?

We are looking for a Credit Specialist to join our growing team in Singapore. In this role, you will be working with the senior credit specialists and relationship managers in structuring optimal credit-based solutions for RBC Wealth Management Asia’s HNW and UHNW clients.

What will you do?

  • Learn to structure optimal credit-based solutions within RBC risk appetite and to assess exceptional lending values request and policy exceptions.
  • Work with senior credit specialist team on managing Lombard lending requests and eventually expanding into managing premium financing, mortgages and structured lending deals.
  • Ensure continued alignment of the credit portfolio with wealth management business and risk strategies and RBC policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the maintenance, review and reporting of high quality risk profile of the portfolio
  • Assist with enhancement of policy and credit products to meet the needs of clients and the business
  • Proactively monitor the regulatory updates and changes that affect credit.
  • Other credit related projects where suitable.
  • While mandate will be to primarily cover credit, there will be cross-training opportunities to cover deposit related tasks including deposit pricing and reporting.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • The role would typically require a minimum of 1 - 3 years of experience in banking and preferably with credit or deposits experience. For example, credit structuring, credit product development, deposits management etc.
  • Basic product knowledge and understanding of wealth management business
  • Strong risk assessment and credit skills
  • As the role requires speaking to international clients, proficiency in spoken English is essential
  • A keen team player with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • A can-do attitude who enjoys challenges and a willingness to learn.

Nice-to-have

  • Being degree educated in Banking and Finance, Business and Accounting or related discipline is a nice-to-have, but not essential
  • This role requires speaking to clients from North and Southeast Asia, proficiency in other Asian language skills including Cantonese, Mandarin or Bahasa is nice-to-have
