About the Role

Join us in the Accounting and Reporting team where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and/or overseeing and reviewing Financials for the Marketing Copper South Australia entities. 
This role also supports future-focused copper growth projects that are crucial in capitalising on growing demands and unlocking key copper resources.

 

Core Accountabilities:

 

  • Support the preparation and analysis of budgets, forecasts and strategic plans (EBIT and free cash flow analysis) and briefing papers in accordance to Group requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely management performance reports.
  • Maintain management financial accounts and adherence to management consolidation reporting requirements.
  • Perform appropriate financial checks and reviews on management accounting and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with broader range of stakeholders and functions, including teams from the newly integrated Oz operations to ensure cohesive and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support implementation of commercial or finance initiatives involving Marketing Managed Entities. Assist in the review, detailed analysis and internal stakeholder engagement for projects and business initiatives as required.
  • Proactive in managing relationship building with stakeholders across global functions and wider finance teams to drive alignment and integration with new business case.
  • Collaborate with Accounting Policy team on the accounting treatment and ensure transactions/projects are recognised in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in maintaining a sound control environment in compliance with Our Requirements and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities, including the simplification and standardisation of accounting policy application.
  • Act as back up for other team members within the Finance Accounting and Reporting team when required.
  • Support the Finance Manager and Team Lead relating to management accounting and reporting. 
     

 

About You
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills 
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to build relationships and work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of accounting practices and IFRS
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
