Organisation Context

The Airspace Mobility Solutions (AMS) business, part of the Global Business Unit Land and Air Systems, is providing leading edge Air Traffic Management (ATM), Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM), Security and Digital Aviation solutions for the Commercial and Defence sectors.

The AMS business manages 11% of the world’s airspace and with revenues of over 500 million Euros worldwide, is the global market leader in airspace management solutions. In Singapore, the business focus is the delivery and support of two key ATM solutions including TopSKY-ATC(HE) and LORADS-III.

This role is within the Systems Engineering Discipline which supports and enables mobility between projects to meet the needs of the AMS business.

Role Description

The Integration Engineer is responsible for the integration and interoperability of software and hardware components within a complex software centric ATM system. The role involves coordinating and executing integration activities, troubleshooting system issues and ensuring the various components are working seamlessly together while satisfying functional and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

Conduct the successful integration and the test of incremental software releases for systems and/or subsystems, in accordance with the schedule set by the Technical Leads and WPM Manage and/or contribute to the setup of environments to facilitate the integration, testing and acceptance activities required by the program. Provide instruction on the setup of environments to support validation activities. Define and/or contribute to testing activities across multiple platforms (regression, interface, simulation scenarios and test tools) to support project milestones and deadlines Able to analyse System/Subsystem technical and functional issues, ensuring they are identified early, captured fully and logged according to internal processes. To collaborate with System, Subsystem and Infrastructure teams to ensure that the integration activities are in line with the design and specifications Output documentation and engineering artefacts (E.g. System Integration Test Documentation) with the expected level of compliance (functional, performance, robustness, security and quality) that are aligned with internal configuration management processes. Support and review documentation of junior integrators Produce scripts in order to automate system administration tasks.  Manage and/or implement test & measuring tools used for system performance, loading and response-time assessment Provide technical support to junior integrators and the V&V teams Support Technical Leads and WPM through:Making recommendations on strategies to improve performance or productivityIdentify risks, and proposing effective solution early and executing mitigation actionsProviding input into the planning and coordination of program integration activities Promote knowledge sharing ensuring that work is captured sufficiently for re-use across projects Following Thales processes and practises and contribute to their improvement

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or relevant experience

Essential Experience

2 years minimum experience holding similar positions integrating complex software-centric real-time systems Ability to understand the structure of and troubleshoot Virtualisation Platforms/Operating Systems (Clients/Servers): 2+ yearsLinux/Unix Operating Systems, SNMP Services, RSYSLOGWindows Operating systemsVMWare Scripting: Python, Shell, XML: 2+ years DevOps and Automation Tools: Ansible, Jenkins Configuration Management: GIT (Bitbucket), JIRA Cybersecurity: LDAP, AD, PKI Network Protocols and technologies: SNMP, UDP, TCP, IP Debugging tools e.g. Wireshark Infrastructure monitoring tools Aptitude to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary integrated team environment with colleagues based in remote sites or other countries. A positive attitude combined with excellent interpersonal and motivational skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex engineering issues and concepts both verbally and written - tailored appropriately for the stakeholder Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Desirable:

Programming Languages: Java, C++ Site software integration deployment / support experience Knowledge of networks and network configuration / exposure to distributed systems Work experience in integrating large projects, preferably ATC-related (Military of Civilian).
