Join GENIC Singapore as an Assistant Engineer and be part of a dynamic precision plastic manufacturing environment. Work closely with our CNC, Welding and Assembly teams to support production planning and delivery control, analyse production capacity, improve processes, and ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, hands-on, proactive and enjoy solving real production challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate production schedules based on customer orders, delivery requirements, machine capacity, manpower and material readiness.
- Analyse cycle time, production capacity, machine utilisation and actual output to identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor production progress and coordinate with Production, Purchasing, QC and Logistics to support on-time delivery.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce manpower dependency, minimise downtime and optimise production flow.
- Evaluate whether additional manpower, overtime, process improvement or automation is the most cost-effective solution.
- Conduct basic cost-benefit and ROI analysis for proposed production improvements and automation investments.
- Research and evaluate practical automation solutions where appropriate, including potential applications for CNC and Welding processes.
- Support the implementation of approved improvement initiatives and measure actual results against expected productivity and cost savings.
- Prepare production, capacity and improvement reports for management review.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
- Contribute to quality and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with company procedures and standards. Key
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
- Experience or exposure to CNC machining and/or plastic welding is preferred.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with good proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Able to analyse production data, capacity, cycle time, machine utilisation and manpower requirements.
- Strong interest in process improvement, manufacturing efficiency and automation.
- Able to research, learn and develop practical solutions independently with minimal supervision.
- Hands-on, proactive and commercially minded, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to assess improvement opportunities from both technical and cost perspectives.
- Experience with Mazak and/or FANUC CNC machines is an advantage.
