Engineering Manager — Core Domains

Be part of something

Every time a shipment moves, Yojee makes it visible, intelligent and efficient.

We build technology that moves freight across air, ocean and road. With MOSAIC and TCMS, we work on real-time events, high data volumes, complex integrations and mission-critical workflows across global logistics.

The opportunity

As Engineering Manager — Core Domains, you will lead one to two teams responsible for shared capabilities used across Mosaic’s Operations Tribe. Core Domains brings together three connected areas: Canonical Data and Entity Governance, Connector Platform, Automation and Agentic AI.

You will partner with the Technical Product Manager, Product Design, CTO and other Engineering leaders to turn complex platform needs into reliable, production-ready capabilities that other teams can adopt.

You will be accountable for the engineers in your care, delivery execution and the quality and health of the systems your teams own. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring enough technical depth to review important work, guide decisions and contribute where it adds the greatest value.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the engineering delivery and system health of one to two Core Domains teams.
  • Develop engineers through clear expectations, regular feedback, performance management, career development and thoughtful hiring.
  • Establish effective planning, prioritisation and delivery practices, making dependencies, risks and trade-offs visible early.
  • Partner with Product, Design and Engineering to shape work, clarify domain boundaries and make decisions about scope, reuse, sequencing and risk.
  • Own production readiness, reliability, observability, technical debt and on-call experience across your teams’ domains.
  • Guide technical decisions involving APIs, events, data models, identity, authorisation, integrations, workflows and distributed systems.
  • Establish sound engineering practices for automation and production AI, including evaluation, security, observability, human oversight and recovery.
  • Stay technically close through code review, architectural work, proof-of-concepts, performance improvements and difficult problem-solving.
  • Communicate technical choices and risks clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Build engineering practices and review structures that strengthen team autonomy and avoid leadership bottlenecks.

What you’ll bring

  • Typically eight or more years in software engineering, including at least two to three years directly managing engineers.
  • Experience leading a platform, data, integration, workflow or other shared technical domain.
  • Strong technical credibility in designing, building and operating production software.
  • Experience with distributed, event-driven, real-time or data-intensive systems and their operational trade-offs.
  • Working knowledge of APIs, events, data models, identity, authorisation and external integrations.
  • A track record of improving delivery reliability while maintaining engineering quality and platform health.
  • Evidence of hiring, developing and managing engineers effectively.
  • Confidence partnering with Product and Design and aligning stakeholders across multiple teams.
  • The ability to connect engineering decisions with customer value, delivery speed, operational cost and risk.
  • Practical experience with coding agents or other AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Clear communication and sound judgement in complex or ambiguous environments.

Elixir/Phoenix experience is valuable. Strong experience in Ruby, Python, Node or another relevant backend environment can also translate well. Experience with React and TypeScript is beneficial.

We do not expect one person to be the deepest specialist in data governance, connector architecture and agentic AI. We do expect a strong engineering leader who can learn complex domains, make responsible technical decisions and help multiple teams benefit from the capabilities their engineers build.

Bonus points for

  • Domain-driven design, master or reference data, entity governance or knowledge graphs
  • Connector platforms, public APIs, integration ecosystems or event-driven architecture
  • Production workflow automation, document intelligence or agentic systems
  • Freight, logistics, customs, supply chain or another integration-heavy regulated domain
  • On-call, incident-response or platform-stability leadership
  • Commercial Elixir/Phoenix experience
  • Scaling-stage environments where you established engineering patterns and practices

Why You'll Love Working Here:

🏙️ A Great Place to Work (Literally): Enjoy in-person collaboration 4 days per week in our Tanjong Pagar office — close to great food, coffee, and transport.

💡 Real Engineering, Real Impact: You'll work on meaningful product challenges with direct line of sight to operational users — concurrency, real-time events, data orchestration, and clear UI all matter here.

🧱 Shape What's Being Built: Our architecture is established but not rigid. There's room to grow into bigger problems as you progress, and to influence patterns as you do.

🌏 Small Team, Big Autonomy: No bureaucracy. Direct line to product, design, and leadership. You get context, ownership, and visibility from day one.

🌱 Growth With Meaning: This is a place for builders who want to leave a mark on something real. We use a published levels framework, so progression on craft, scope, and leadership is a real conversation — not a guessing game.
