This job is the first level in the Manufacturing Scheduling job family. At this level, the Production Planner has limited autonomy to deviate from established processes, but is expected to develop their understanding of the principles necessary to exercise such judgment at the upper levels of the Manufacturing Scheduling job family. The Production Planner receives training to be able to plan and schedule routine orders for their assigned product lines and to resolve related problems affecting delivery for short-term ( Performs release of production orders within acceptable guidelines, uses dispatch report to coordinate schedule execution, and performs inventory management functions to optimize material flow. Requirement: The Production Planner will have a basic understanding and knowledge of: Forecasting, FP, MRP, Excel, Theory of Constraints, Master Data, Engineering Change Management, and Inventory Turns. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) experience is preferred. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of two years working in manufacturing, procurement, or customer service.
