**What the role is** - You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for the day to day management and operations of SFA’s building facilities. As the Assistant Director, you will manage contractors to ensure the building facilities are well maintained. You will be involved in various aspects of the contracting process, including budget planning, procurement, contract and contractor performance management. - You will also be involved in managing workplace safety and health related issues, contingency planning, development and enforcement of House Rules (for SFA-managed trade facilities), sustainability matters and improvement projects. **What you will be working on** - Plan, execute and supervise facility management related contracts, such as building and estate maintenance, mechanical & electrical maintenance, conservancy and horticultural maintenance to ensure goods and services are provided in accordance with contracts’ specifications. - Ensure all maintenance requests / feedback are attended to in accordance with stipulated performance indicators. - Carry out regular joint site inspections with contractors to identify potential service performance lapses, and to propose remedial actions. - Issue works orders for maintenance / repairs / replacement works to contractors promptly in accordance with established procedures. - Verify and confirm satisfactory completion of work done, as well as invoice certification to facilitate payment to contractors. - Contingency and emergency response planning for the property. - Review of Workplace Safety and Health measures at the property. - Assist in development of House Rules and means to enforce them. - Attend to emergency incidents at the property. - Liaise with other government agencies relating to facilities management issues. - Manage estate related feedback, analyse the trends and propose improvement plans. - Ensure timely planning and execution of contracts procurement. - Any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time. **What we are looking for** - Relevant Degree in Building / Estate Management, Engineering and Quality Surveying or equivalent. - Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with good knowledge in government procurement processes and contract administration. - Have a good command of English (written) due to the need to assist to draft Procurement Requests and contract specifications. - Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills. - Analytical and meticulous. - Responsible and independent. - Pro-active and resourceful. - Willingness to learn and a "can-do" attitude. - Service-oriented and committed to service excellence - Experience in managing small teams would be an added advantage Work Location - Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre
