Assistant Vice President, Apac Commodities Middle Office Manager

The role resides within the APAC Commodities Middle Office team, whom are primarily responsible for ensuring accurate execution of trades in a timely and efficient manner. The Commodities businesses transact high volumes across many different markets including Oil, Precious Metals, Base Metals, Softs, Power, Freight & Emissions. Support provided to these desks include but are not limited to, daily reconciliation of exchange positions, deal checks and problem resolution via liaison with Sales & Trading and other support teams. Middle Office need to ensure that there is a continual focus on control throughout the trade process, monitoring deals and amendments to ensure they are booked correctly, while constantly driving improvements to existing processes. The Commodities Middle Office Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for providing analytic and administrative support to the Commodities Sales & Trading business. The role will be primarily concentrated on coverage of the Flow Commodities desk The post holder will interact extensively with Desk Heads, Salespeople and Traders to actively manage risk issues and solve problems, while also working closely with a diverse group of support and control functions. **Responsibilities**: - Provide analytical and administrative support to Front Office Sales and Trading specifically around derivatives and securities transactions - Maintain position records in coordination with the traditional trading desk assistant and / or trade processing functions - Support trade capture management, Front to Back reconciliation, identifying operational risk, trade confirmation and settlement forecasts - Utilise data analysis tools and methodologies to make recommendations to senior management to support process improvement - Design and analyse complex reports to support/control activities and make recommendations based on identified trends and facts - Interpret data and recommend the launch of new products/ services or upgraded platforms that support pre-settlement processes and transaction capture functions - Minimise bank risk, and provide solutions to reduce errors, and ensure adherence to audit and control policies - Manage, escalate and resolve all requests / inquiries / issues / errors and identify policy gaps and formulate policies to streamline processes - Provide informal guidance and/or on-the-job-training to new team members **Qualifications**: - 5+ years of experience in a related role - An understanding of Commodity products preferred - Demonstrated project management skills - Ability to work under pressure and manage to deadlines - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication - Attention to detail and problem solving skills Education: - Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience preferred Working at Citi is far more than just a job.
