Funds & Mandate Specialist

**Roles & Responsibilities**

Assume primary responsibility to support the development and maintenance of the Fund Platform for the Private Bank. Contribute to the promotion and distribution of discretionary portfolios and fund products. Support related processes and be heavily involved in process enhancement projects. Provide input to the Global Investment Committee (“GIC”).

Assume responsibility for discretionary investment processes with the aim of enhancing client risk-adjusted returns using in-house and third-party product solutions, with a commensurate increase in profitability for the Bank via product distribution and client penetration.

Fund Platform Support
- Actively participate in the integrated research philosophy, process and output that can be implemented and leveraged across the region
- Actively support the shaping of the Specialist List of funds with primary and secondary fund research
- Prepare internal and external client-ready publications, updates and marketing materials
- Assist to manage relationships with major counterparties and key market players
- Be familiar with Focus List of funds and be prepared to promote the distribution of fund products and portfolios to clients
- Work within the Funds team to ensure coverage at all times, directly support / backup Funds group during absences
- Be available for RMs/ICs consultations regarding client queries, recommended lists and sales ideas

Discretionary Portfolio Management
- Work closely with RMs / clients to set out client specific mandates and investment strategies
- Prepare investment guidelines (including the annual reviews of the guidelines) for DPM offerings
- Be an active participant in the GIC Meetings and contribute input to the Committee for the formulation of “best advice” to the clients
- Implement the strategies by constructing suitable portfolios and placing buy/sell orders
- Ensure adherence with clients specific mandates and guidelines
- Conduct pre-trade checks and post-trade reconciliation and maintain proper records
- Take responsibility for portfolios’ investment performance and results
- Produce client ready marketing collaterals and reports for regular portfolio monitoring and performance review and update
- Engage RMs / clients for portfolio review meetings
- Support the development of MIS and post transaction reporting to ensure all instruments are reflected correctly in the Bank’s books and on client statements

Sales Support
- Work closely with RMs/ICs to assist in client investment proposals to drive product sales
- Foster, whenever possible, the development of the knowledge base within the relationship management team, through dedicated and on-the-job training
- Publish regular investment material for use with clients, including flash output as appropriate
- Respond to ICs / RMs queries on a timely basis

Compliance and Processes
- Ensure full compliance with internal Policies and Procedures, further with all local and cross-border regulatory requirements
- Manage funds & mandate related product programs, policies and vendor due diligence
- Manage product setup and the regular reviews processes
- Undertake ad hoc projects for process enhancements

**Requirements**:

- Approximately 7-12 years of relevant experience
- Technical capabilities in Funds products, including Alternative Funds
- Proven people manager with a commitment to team work
- Relevant education, investment experience and proven investment track record in a private client framework
- Relevant experience of working in Asia Pacific
