Job Description - Network Engineer

The Network Engineer primary responsibility will be to design, drive, and implement improvements to Ensign’s network with strong focus on security and deepening the capabilities for network monitoring, fault detection, and recovery. This will be an individual contributor with strong hands-on expertise and a game changer identifying gaps in coverage and capability, and developing solutions to create more specific, granular, and real-time network visibility.

**Responsibilities**:

- Configure and design security centric networks and infrastructure solutions for the organization.
- Ensure technical solution/design alignment with security policies and guidelines.
- Develop and translate technical solution/design into technical specifications and functional requirements.
- Hands-on on various technologies focusing on network and security
- Overall responsible for the delivery of projects.
- To explore new technologies and topologies in networking through proof-of-concepts.
- Create/update documentation to be referenced/deployed to regional offices.

**Requirements**:

- Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering or Information Technology or related disciplines.
- Industry certification such as CCIE/CCNP (Cisco) and VCP6-NV (VMWare) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with operating in a medium to large enterprise environment.
- Strong fundamental knowledge in networking and security.
- Experience in designing and implementing high-availability multi-layer data centre networks.
- Experience in next-gen firewalls and IPS platforms and network monitoring and management solutions.
- Experience in SDN/data centre will be an added advantage.
- Experience in security policy orchestration and network automation tools will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of hyper-converged infrastructure will be an added advantage.
- Excellent project and vendor management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively with non-technical audiences and senior management.
