OTC Aalpha Energy are searching for junior brokers to help build and support their crude oil desk in Singapore. Headquartered in London, OTC Aalpha Energy want to add an Asia based desk to their existing Europe and US coverage.
The successful applicant will be personable, tenacious and a natural networker, having a proactive approach to securing new business and managing existing clients. In addition, they will be well-organised, highly analytical and thrive in a fast-moving environment. They should be able to work under your own initiative and thrive in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pricing, brokering and sales services to our clients
- Manage and execute client order properly through system
- Business development into the the oil & gas sector market
- To develop business relationships for the Company by socializing with customers and prospective customers outside the workplace when required
- Partake in on-job-trainings to efficiently become a full-fledged broker
- Ad-hoc duties as assigned by the respective Managers
- Work closely with front office and back-office staff to resolve client queries
**Requirements**:
- Fluent communications in English and Mandarin Chinese is required
- Able to travel to Mainland China for short periods (dependent on travel restrictions)
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma
- Prior exposure to the oil & gas market is a definite plus but not essential
- Any customer service / sales / financials experience is a plus
- Fast learner with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Preferably quick-witted and numerically inclined
- Good team player
- Good tolerance for stress in a fast-paced environment
