**As the Assistant Director, Research, you will support the team in the following.**
- End-to-end partnership: Build strong relationships with unit leaders and stakeholders to understand their strategic objectives and challenges. Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance on best practices, process optimization, and solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Continuous improvement champion: Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement within the research FP function. Analyze data to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, propose solutions to streamline processes, reporting and decision support
- Budgeting: Steer the development of accurate and insightful annual budgets aligned with objectives and goals. Collaborate with teams to ensure accurate data collection and analysis
- Financial analysis: Curate and manage dashboards and KPIs to enable in-depth analysis of financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Translate complex financial information into clear and concise reports for management, highlighting key insights and potential areas for improvement.
- Management reporting: Lead preparation of regular management reports that provide a comprehensive overview of financial performance, key metrics, and compliance considerations.
- Financial accounting support: Manage and oversee the preparation of annual year-end entries, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Work closely with auditors on audit schedules and address their queries.
- Control & Compliance: Proactive management of research projects through early review and intervention. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures related to financial reporting, internal controls, risk management, and accounting standards.
- Team development: Mentor and coach members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, teamwork and positivity
- Other projects and assignments value adding to NTU

**Requirements**:

- Tertiary education in Finance, Accountancy, Business, or equivalent professional accreditation with minimum 8 years of experience in financial and business analysis, budgeting, financial modelling, decision support
- Demonstrated success in managing diverse stakeholders
- Achievements in continuous improvements
- Strong analytical skills and attention to details
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and influential skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP, Ariba), financial analysis tools
