**[ Responsibilities and Duties ]**:
The client is looking for a researcher with experience in blockchain infrastructure, distributed systems, and applied cryptography. Knowledge of programming language theory is a plus. The researcher will conduct blockchain and ecosystem studies that must have practical significance. Broader responsibilities will include:

- Identifying key research problems. Conducting impactful research. Helping the engineering team with new ideas to improve the core protocol and ecosystem
- Communicating the findings to the broader community by pushing academic papers and research outcomes in top-tier conferences and our own technical blogs
- Supporting the operation of Blockchain Research Centre and liaising with partnered research groups
- Building demos, sample apps, tutorials and continuously improving the technical performance and other technical focuses of the blockchain and ecosystem
- Defining what educational content should be produced and how it should be organized; such as technical documentation, knowledge base, and others
- Help coordinate the internal team of technical writers and content producers with regard to creating, updating, illustrating, and promoting research-focused content
- Work with internal teams and ecosystem partners to create research workshops, course materials, and academic events

**[ Requirements ]**:

- Education level - PhD Degree (Computer Science and Engineering preferred)
- Research experience with PhD
- Must have published at least 2 papers in top-tier conferences or via major publishers
- Must have a good and related background in computer science and engineering
- Must have conducted research in more than one of the following fields: distributed systems, applied cryptography, system security, privacy, scalability, interoperability, and blockchain infrastructure in general
- Experience in the development and prototyping of Proof-of-Concept (PoC) of the related research theories and outcomes
- Experience in open-source project participation and development
- Experience in organizing research symposiums, academic conferences and collaborating with research groups
- Ability to communicate with engineers and understand their needs, challenges, motivations
- Ability to work with a distributed and remote team
